This may sound weird, but check your antivirus app. Some will scan files as they download, so you may have a bit of a slowdown at the beginning and end of the download process. I run NOD32 here, and have a one-or-two-second slowdown at the end of a download as the scanner finishes up.

Ghostman 1,

Do you have Firefox clear your private data on shutdown? If not, it could be that the Download Manager needs to be cleared.

To check on these settings: Tools | Options | Privacy, scroll down to Private Data, then click on the Settings tab.

WOW, I am now using Seamonkey because firefox got SO BAD... At this point I cannot use firefox...It takes forever to load, then after it does load,When I click on my bookmarks for Google, and then punch something in the search area it will just freeze up.
I have removed firefox and reinstalled three times, but still have the same problem..
My Seamonkey and Kmeleon work fine.. any Ideas ???

Reinstalling never accomplishes anything, but creating a new profile may help.

Create a shortcut of firefox, then right click on the shortcut, go to properties. Now, there is a box called 'Target' in it is something that looks like this
Code: Select all
"C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe"
Put a -p one space after the last ", and then it should look like this
Code: Select all
"C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -p
.
Now, save your changes. Double click on the short cut and delete the "default" profile and create a new one. Your problem should now be solved.

Best of luck,
John :P

Didn't your antivirus see it? Do you do daily scans?

I checked my computer with three different AV's and only ONE found a trace..
AVG 8.0 and NOD32 did not find anything, But AntiVir did..

And Yes, I update two to three times a day,Plus scan twice a day as well..
