Firefox 4.0 RC1 is ready.
One word of caution, for those who want to keep both 3.6 and 4.0. Do a custom installation, selecting any of the folders occupied before by a beta, or a new folder of its own. I trusted that it would do the same as previous betas, selecting a separate folder, but, instead an "upgrade" overwrote 3.6. So, I had to start over, and next, reinstall 3.6.x. It will be a mess, as I was getting incremental updates. In any event, this RC, seems to be about the same as beta 12, except for

, whatever that means.

Other than redownloading FF 3.6.15, which I did not have, and, selecting a separate folder, for installation, i.e. doing a custom install for this, as well, everything went smoothly.
As for 4.0, I don't like the fact that nightly tester tool, which allowed me to force compatibility, does not seem to do the job. No matter what I select, one addon, i.e. Quick Restart, which should be part of Firefox, does not work in FF 4.0 RC1. I had the same problem with the betas, but, eventually, attention was paid to Nightly Tester Tools, which is compatible.
