All sort of updates. I got them all using incremental method. I got one of the Release Notes. Oh, it is for TB. Seamonkey's is here. Now, Seamonkey reports its real version number.
And 3.6.22, as well. This is the update about: * Removed trust exceptions for certificates issued by Staat der Nederlanden (see bug 683449 and the security advisory)
* Resolved an issue with gov.uk websites (see bug 669792)

Are you sure that bug number is correct? I tried searching for it on Bugzilla but it wasn't found!

Regards,

Dave.

This ridiculous race to update almost on a daily basis is yet another reason I'm opting of late for ie9. It's craziness. I don't see how developers can keep abreast of these updates. If they're simply security glitches being patched... why don't they do it in the background? I think that sometimes they're giving all these updates to try and prove that they're progressing faster than Chrome and that significant things are happening when in fact nothing much is happening when compared to how they used to update in the past. It's just become very silly.

James,
Like I've pointed out many many times... There's something about open-source extremists, one of the common things among most of them is... they must be using the latest of whatsoever version.

After reading this particular bug fix, I failed to see the big deal.

I, just, reported what I saw. And, for accuracy, I copy/paste. I don't understand, not care about these things, but clicking on bug 669792, in the release notes there is ample information. Sorry, I did not provide a link. But, youb can enjoy yourself in reading the long thread, and, if someone understands it, please report. I think that it is a cookie matter.

Just for the heck of it, I went to Google Chrome, and surprise, surprise, there was an update. The only difference is that I cannot find release notes to tell me that the update was trivial (or misunderstood).
My philosophy has been, and will always be that I won't let the program do what it wants, and if I see that the update is harmless ( and I may be wrong), I will update. As for Google Chrome if there is a way to control it, I have yet to learn. So, I use it very rarely.

It is not so much the more frequent updates that bother me. It is the fact that the function of the "Check for Updates" button was changed without any notification. Now you get the update starting to download if you only want to check, and you have to abort it if you do not like updating that way.

The location of Check for Updates was changed, I think with Firefox 4. I am sure that the Release Notes indicated that. Now, instead of Help|Check for Updates, one goes to Help|About Firefox, where there is an Update button.
As for the update starting to download if you only want to check, I am not familiar with it. I am told that there is an update, and I decide if I want to download it or not. Some people are, still, leaving the default settings untouched, and complain about unwanted update. I must have commented on this fact since day one. No one forces you to do anything.
