Remarkable 70,000,000 Firefox downloads is now crossed.

This was recently handled at Asa Dotzler's weblog.

This was happened last night, in fact.

Congratulations to Mozilla Firefox!

Just let me make a comparison, it took Apple one year to reach 70 million downloads from its iTunes Music Store.

After the first 100 million downloads, the download rate increased a lot. Right now, Apple is counting down to 500 million downloads.

One major difference between iTunes Music Store downloads and Firefox downloads.

iTMS: available only in selected countries and only in Mac and Windows platforms.
Firefox: available worldwide, and 3 supported platforms (Mac, Windows and Linux) + a number of contributed platforms.

iTMS: song costs 99 cents.
Firefox: free.

iTMS: works with iPod
Firefox: does not work with iPod.

For more detail about the promotion on 500 million downloads, please check [sdt=9322]500 million songs download promotion[/sdt]

You manage to turn everything into an Apple-related discussion, don't you?

Ever thought of working for Apple?

Getting this thread back on topic . . . at least Mozilla Firefox 1.1 is more likely to comply
with the "Apple Human Interface Guidelines", since Firefox Deer Park Alpha 2 has . . .
 Better support for Mac OS X (10.2 and greater)
Safari profile migrator, Aqua compliance and shell service.

Meanwhile, I'm still waiting for the "en-GB" build of Ffx 1.0.5 to show up . . . !

SeaMonkey = Swiss Army Knife: It's versatile, reliable, and contains useful tools.
Windows Internet Explorer = Old Swiss Cheese: Full of holes, and it stinks!

That's a good news.

I will test it when I have time.
