Postby vipergg » Sun 21 Nov, 2004 10:30 am

There was a big Firefox article in todays Sunday paper so it is getting good exposure and it was a positive article about the browser and one of the 19 year olds that developed it . It covered most of 1 page .

Firefox was mentioned over the course of almost two full pages under the Business section of the Boston Globe. And, of course, that means that I haven't thrown the Business section of that paper out yet, nor the front page, as there was an advertisement on the front as well.

I also heard there was a full-page New York Times ad, although I don't subscribe to the New York Times.

Now, I hope that most of those people will not mess it up. One bad report is about equivalent to ten good ones, in the wrong (or right) place and time.

I would, and probably will, it it weren't for the good old Boston vs. New York rivalry. But, that's clearly a different discussion.

If I was so inclined, I bet I could find a PDF or HTML archive somewhere on the New York Times website easily enough. And if that weren't enough, I could stop by some convenience store on the way to work and pick up a copy. Then I'd need to know the date for it, though, unless it spans more than a day (which I'm guessing and hoping that it will).

According to the counter on Spread Firefox, there have been over ten million downloads of Mozilla Firefox 1.0 as of today, barely a month after it was released.

This performance has been nothing short of phenomenal.
