The Pepsi Max cans here recently changed in appearance.

I think the old one is more interesting.

You can turn this Mountain Dew

into some very colourful Mountain Dews, without any colour agents/food colours.

100% safe to drink.

(Detail at this blog entry.)

I still prefer Coca-Cola, the original flavour.

Thanks, it's composed with 6 individual shoots. (However, each photo was real.)

I tried Mountain Dew Throwback about a week ago.

Image

Unlike the other flavor varieties, Throwback is just regular Mountain Dew with sugar instead of high-fructose corn syrup (or rather, "how they used to do it").

I like the consistency a lot better than regular Mountain Dew (the consistency of regular MD is half the reason I drink Diet instead), and doesn't have the sticky aftertaste of regular either.

I went ahead and tried Mountain Dew Throwback tonight, and I really liked it a lot more than regular Mountain Dew. It wasn't as syrupy as the regular Mountain Dew. There also seems to be less carbonation in Throwback, which made it feel a lot "lighter" than the regular stuff.

Although I drink diet sodas, corn syrup is not the same as real sugar.

Re: fizzy drink talk, Pepsi vs Coke

For about one to two weeks period, I ran out of Cokes (in cans) in my fridge upstairs. So I 'helped myself' with Laurent's Coke from his fridge for the time being.

I finally got my own Cokes (2 x 18 cans of 375ml) on Friday. And guess what? I forgot to put them into the fridge... I guess I have to 'help myself" again.

Agreed. While they may have the same caloric intake values, and be processed by the body the same way. They are by no means processed by the taste buds the same way.

And I too, drink Diet soda when I do drink soda. Diet Coke is my favorite. However, I've been drinking just water and occasional juice pretty much.

Since Don reduced his consumption of Mountain Dew, I decided to follow his footstep...
(Although not completely,) I am now down to about 1 can (375 ml) of soft drink a week recently.

So I increased from 1 cup of Nespresso coffee to about 2-3 cups of Nespresso coffee a day. Don't worry, the second or third cup of Nespresso coffee is always Decaffeinato Intenso (decaf version).

The entire Pepsi range had an even bigger facelift here in the UK several months ago.

The picture was taken on 23rd October last year.

I've drank Coke Zero a small number of times since it was launched in 2006, and it is most definitely a
seriously inferior product compared with the mighty Pepsi Max, launched in the UK in Spring 1993.
Coke Zero is just a lame attempt to imitate the "maximum taste no sugar" format ... 13 years late!

That's the current can design here in Australia. It's much more 'Americanised' than the previous designs, but thankfully it still tastes the same.

Coke Zero is my favourite of Coke's products, but I do agree that it's wholly inferior to Pepsi Max. As for cutting consumption? Well, err, it's one of the small pleasures in life. 8-)

After a week of no Coke due to the cold/flu, the Coke tastes really good.

I'm the same with Pepsi Max (superior product) if I've not had any for a couple of days.
