When I go to http://gameblast.shockwave.com/ the list of games on the right of the page does not show in Firefox (v .8). The rest of the page shows, and works (games can be played) but the list of available games does not show.
The list shows in Netscape 7.1, but 1) is not 'clickable' and 2) disappears
after scrolling down the page, reappearing after scrolling back up.
I have heard that others can see this list in Firefox and have it work.
It works as intended in IE6. The site says it's Mozilla/Netscape compatible
(though they only support the Netscape browser, which I find odd, but....)
I've uninstalled shockwave and the flash player, and resintalled both as per the instructions on the gameblast/shockwave site. No change...same behavior as before I did the un/reinstall.
Again, the games and other elements of the page work. Just not that list.
I'm not an html guru, and am not sure what sort of element this list is. Is
it flash? Javascript?
Java/javascript are up to date and working fine (as far as I can tell;
certainly haven't enountered any usability issues other than this) on all
browsers.
I do not have an ad blocking extension (such as AdBlock) enabled.
I am using XP Home.
I've been looking for a solution to the below for a little while, without
much success. I've been told:
1. It works in Firefox .9.2, upgrade to that
2. I shouldn't use Netscape
<sigh>
At the moment I'd rather stick with Firefox .8 as it's the latest version
that supports the Yahoo Companion For Mozilla toolbar, upon which I've
become rather dependent. Besides, since I've been having a similar issue
with my netscape 7.1 install it seems there's something *else* buggering
things up.
I've contacted Gameblast/Macromedia and their form letter instructed me to use Netscape or IE (I had mentioned I had troubles with NS 7.1 as well). So much for that.
This has become one of those annoying little things that I'd like to fix.
The site works fine in IE, so it's easy enough to use that..but it *should*
work in Netscape, and I really think it should work in my (default browser)
Firefox as well.
Thanks for any help
