Gmail now works in almost every browser!

Postby David Wonn » Mon 28 Feb, 2005 11:20 pm

I logged in recently to Gmail to discover that I am no longer limited to a handful of browsers to check my mail. This is especially good news for fans of alternative browsers like Lynx and Opera, and for those who are on public computers. This might even extend into handheld devices, though I have no means of verifying this. Out of curiosity, I decided to find out what the oldest browser was that worked with Gmail. It turns out that Netscape Navigator 3.0 is sufficient enough to access Gmail, although some features are disabled. Now Gmail is as accessible as Yahoo Mail!

I think it is good to see that Google is supporting older browsers and alternative browsers in it's Gmail service. Many sites seem like they've given up supporting older browsers.
