GoLive 5 and Netscape 7 preview problem. Or is it?

Postby Avia1 » Wed 30 Aug, 2006 11:17 pm

Hi folks,
I'm a newbie to web design :? , having just poked my head out the door after 20 years of print design.
I'm using GL5 to make some no-frames, floating-box endowed pages. When I preview in the authoring software, my simple home-page loading animations look fine... all hidden elements become visible (and some hidden again along the timeline) as intended. Same thing in IE5. Looks great.
NS7 (7.02 Mac OS9) loads all visible items, but does nothing with the animation. Communicator 4.6 (.68 I think?) on a friend's laptop on our LAN also works for the animation (though I discovered the flawless transparency capabilities of PNG-24 format graphics is not supported .
I can revisit the graphics – change them to GIFs I guess  – but I'm stumped on this CSS stuff. I thought GL would handle that for me. Apparently, according to my friend this might be a DOM issue? Or maybe something that'll resolve once the site is actually on a server (I'll be using Powweb)? Is there a quick universal fix? Help!? Please?!
Thanks,
Terry

Oh yes, almost forgot... the "Javascript Console" in Netscape 7 says "Error: curDoc.layers has no properties" and then lists the source file (GLs GlobalScripts/CSSScriptLib.js) on my hard drive, followed by line: 9.
Cheers,
Terry

Could you post the source of your GlobalScripts/CSSScriptLib.js either here or to Pastebin, as well as the DOM you're using to call the script?
