Happy Birthday Tooooooooooooooooooooo Me

Postby Hatewa » Fri 20 Feb, 2004 2:02 am

Well, it is my birthday today. I am 65 on the dot, and decided to celebrate, by putting a short story up on my web site for the entertainment of anyone who wishes to be entertained. Just follow the red slippers, yellow bricks, straw, and tin to http://www.funnyfiftiesstory.com and you’ll see a real picture of Hatewa instead of the skeletal avatar, as well as his real name, and some background. What the hell, when you get older, you get looser, no pun intended.

Don't let the website fool you. My offer still stands; I will send a free PDF copy of my book to anyone who makes a donation of any amount to SillyDog. If you make a donation, contact me privately on this site and I will send one off to you pronto. I am good to my word. Ask Profman. I sent him a copy.
The Internet Police have rated my book PG 13. My 12 year old great niece read it, and insists it should be PG 12. Personally, I don't intend to read it until I'm 18.

Hey Hatewa:
I hope you had a wonderful birthday and a very happy one too.

65 years is a long time, lots of stories in that head of yours, I bet.
Well, I guess you can retire now and just write. You are a wonderful writer. BTW, I enjoyed your story.

I hope you have many more Happy Belated Birthdays! :P

Thank you so much for the kind words Lorraine. I'm so glad you liked the story. Since I joined here, a little over a year ago, I have been helped so much by so many on this site, and lacking Computer knowedge, I can only give back something that is in my field of operation—a book or story or two to enjoy now and again. Thank you again, Lorraine, and thanks to the rest of you guys for your greetings and salutations.

Glad you liked it Edward. If my stories get people chuckling, even a little, that makes me feel satisfied and successful. From the beginning, I never expected to make much money from my writing. (Things are just too big out there.) And, I must admit, my expectations have panned out.

Since I wrote that story, a little over a year ago, people have related countless amusing and horrific tales to me about their odyssey on the dentist chair, many of them as crazy as mine.

I was a student at Salem State for two years, played baseball on their team, then later finished my undergraduate work at San Francisco State College in the turbulent sixties.
I live in NH now but continue to drive my bus in the North Shore area, and play softball down there in the spring and summer.
We used to say small world. Guess now it is some sort of macrofied/microcosm.
