Happy Easter

Postby Antony » Thu 21 Apr, 2011 8:13 am

Happy Easter everybody.

Stay safe and don't eat too much chocolate this holiday.

(In Australia, we have one extra day off on Tuesday due to Easter Monday being the same day as ANZAC Day.)

Happy Easter, everybody!

Anyone doing anything for the holiday? I'm headed home for the weekend, which means a seven-hour drive back home tomorrow morning. There's no break in classes here so I'll also be driving back on Easter afternoon so that I can be back for class on Monday morning. Thankfully I'm carpooling and not driving.

Isn't Easter Monday also a public holiday?

Oh,

Thursday (the night before Good Friday): late shopping night in many cities which translates to last chance to get chocolates.
Friday: Good Friday  day off
Saturday: regular Saturday
Sunday: Easter Sunday: regular Sunday
Monday: Easter Monday also ANZAC Day  day off
Tuesday: ANZAC Day Public Holiday  day off (day off to compensate the two holiday overlapping on Monday)

That makes a unusual 5-day long weekend officially.

As for heading out for holidays, well, Laurent and I spent 5 days in Melbourne and got back on Thursday (just before Easter break) and we will stay home this Easter long weekend to avoid traffic.

I had to work on Saturday (... until 3AM...  ), and again on Tuesday, but I get paid double time and a half (2.5x normal wages) for my trouble. I've got a fortnight off as well. :D

Happy Easter everyone.

Although Good Friday is not a public holiday in the U.S., the stock markets are closed on Good Friday.
