Is it possible for a PowerMac G3 to be able to read a hardrive that is formatted for a PC and A MAC?

Yes, it actually depends on the Mac OS.

The short answer is yes.

If you are talking about a better
os then Mac OS would propably be better because it's based on the more stable UNIX code.
