headsets for VOIP

Postby sbean » Mon 04 Sep, 2006 9:57 pm

I've had skype for months and have gone through 5 unsatisfactory headsets.

can anyone suggest a headset that is good sound quality for conference calls?

it can be one ear or two, amplified mic preferred.

thanks

Shouldn't any computer compatible headset work? (In most cases, you need to make sure the mic is mono input.)

Or are you looking for one that looks like a telephone handset?

Have you checked the Sound input and output setting under System Preference?

-one would think, but, since I am often using skype in public places and conference calling, I need superior sound.

Or are you looking for one that looks like a telephone handset?

- yes one that sits on my head with a mic on the side, I have tried a stand up mic, but the sound was not ideal

Have you checked the Sound input and output setting under System Preference?

- yes that helps but not enough

haven't figured out the quote thing =)

I just saw this Miglia Dialog Phone for VOIP from The Mac Observer. This may be something that you are looking for. (I am not endorsing the product.)

I don't use Skype or VOIP via ADSL 2 phone line myself. The only audio/video chat I use over the internet is iChat AV, and I use iSight as microphone.
