Help me open my files....please!

Postby bonytony » Wed 02 Apr, 2003 10:56 am

 Done it again! When trying to open a file from Windows explorer of a type that Windows (NT4) does not recognize I inadvertently selectedthe wrong program to open the file. Windows always tries to open with this program by default unless you clear the check box. I forgot!! How can I persuade Windows that I made a mistake and would like to try another program to open those files???

From Windows Help

To change which program starts when you open a file

In My Computer or Windows Explorer, on the View menu, click Folder Options.
Click the File Types tab.
In the list of file types, click the one you want to change.
Click Edit.
In Actions, click Open.
Click Edit.
In Application used to perform action, enter the program you want to use to open files that have this extension, and then click OK.
Note The settings for selected file types are shown in File type details.
