Help! Messages have disappeared

Postby HappyJ15 » Sun 09 Jan, 2005 10:38 pm

Hi. I am helping someone who is running Netscape 7.2 and uses messenger as their email client. For some reason all emails before Dec. 12, 2004 are still listed in the inbox with their subject but when you open any of them they are blank in the body of the email. Everything since the 12th is fine. The only thing that happened around this time was that the internet went down for 2 weeks. No one ever touched the computer to get it back up. Is there some sort of database scan or repair utility? Anyone ever heard of this? Thanks.

Karen,
since you have Winxp, find where your profile is located. Close Netscape7.2 and then open the profile in Windows Explorer, and keep clicking until you get to your Mail account (Mail|account name).
Then delete the Inbox.msf (that's the header file). Close Windows Explorer, and open NS7.2. and check your mail. If still nothing, you may have to contact your ISP/or check the mail atthe ISP website.
