help recovering lost emails communicator 4.8

Postby bhbiz » Wed 12 Jan, 2005 1:38 pm

I recently lost about 3 months of business email from the Inbox and Sent folders of Netscape Communicator 4.8 when my machine froze requiring several reboots. I since had to reload Win98 SE and would like to know how to safely recover the missing emails to these folders? Thanks..

Unless you want to send your hard drive to a company that does data recovery (Big $$$), you can't really recover them. They would be very hard to recover, seeing how you've formatted and re-installed Windows on your PC.

data recovery

Postby pix3l » Fri 02 Dec, 2005 2:08 am

3 months ago? well. now it is evn longer.
if you have not used a data recovery service by now and have yet to retrieve your lost files---if you have diagnostic software like norton utilities, you can retrieve files deleted.

i am not sure if you can retrieve them yourself if your cpu crashes, but if you had trashed them, you can try to retrieve from the trash, but you will also have to get other files you may not have wanted to keep, sort thru them and trash what you no longer want.

hope this helped some.
