Can someone tell me how to get my emails from an old computer running 4.7 into a new computer running 7.1 Please bear in mind I am a novice and dont know how to network these two together.

If your messages are server-side, they will automatically carry over to your new PC. If they are stored on your computer, create a new folder on your server and move the messages to that folder. If I recall, you can also export your Mail settings as well by going to Tools then Export.
