JKSteinhauer: No luck so far obtaining a Netscape Navigator 4.08 CD. I will probably have to get the latest 7.0 version. I don't even have the Windows 95 installation disk. Maybe it's not worth the trouble to try to keep this old second computer running. It just provides email right now (Eudora) and Word and Excel applications.
Thank you folks,

Ken,
I could even burn a CD for you, but, under the circumstances, I do not think that it worth while. I can't even remember Win95, but does it had a Windows Explorer, or a place where you can see what is in the files?
You mention a rather small size for netscape.exe. May be you left out some number. You want to see what is the content in Mb of the entire Netscape folder, and that should be well over 10Mb. Next, you do not tell us if you attempted to uninstall 4.08. If you can, you should. You would be left with the plugins folder, which gives you a Shockwave plugin error. Delete it. In fact, I would first of all try to delete that .dll file, and see what happens next. In summary try:
1.delete the npswf.dll file
2. do a clean uninstall . I do not recall if Ramona has listed her Netscape Solutions website. Too lazy to dig it out.
3. Then if you do not have the old download file, try again or get a really skinny NS7.0 from the the sillydog.org/narchive site. You do not need mail. And, good luck.
