Horrible sound in Firefox

Postby Fulvio » Sun 06 Mar, 2011 5:33 pm

I was trying to listen to a music video on the HBO site, and it has been the worst, choppy all the way. This has been my experience with all such videos. Mostare .flv (YouTube) format, but this is a .mov format. On a second try, I could tell that it was music, but barely. Fortunately, having the Real Player downloader, I can get a good video/audio, but otherwise, it is hopeless. I believe that I heard of this problem, from others.

Hello Fulvio,

Fulvio wrote:I was trying to listen to a music video on the HBO site, and it has been the worst, choppy all the way.

I've just taken a listen to that site and, while it's not perfect, it is quite good. The video is affected more than the sound.

This has been my experience with all such videos. Mostare .flv (YouTube) format, but this is a .mov format.

I don't think the video type is really relevant, I think it is more a question of the speed of your internet connection. At the time I listened, I was getting 4866kb/s.

Regards,

Dave.

I agree with Dave, Fulvio. The sound is fine and for the most part, the video is as well with the exception of a couple of spots where it skipped slightly. I think he's right: it's more an indication of your slow internet connection speed.

I have the cheapest cable connection that I can get, and it is very adequate for everything else. Anyway, thanks to the Real Player downloader, I can watch the videos, flawlessly.
Overall, the sound was affected a lot more than the video (I guess that I did not watch it closely, what what difference does it make?)
