How do I make my Netscape 4.7 quit asking for my password

Postby Cheese » Fri 09 Jan, 2004 12:09 am

I know I've done it before but it's been a long time since I had to reset my Netscape 4.7 mailbox. Now that I have everything back in order the only problem is it keeps asking me for my password when ever I try to check or send mail. I can't remember where I found the command on it to make it quit asking. I hope somebody knows here. Thanks. :)

Welcome to the Forum, Cheese!

Edit | Preferences | Mail & Newsgroups | Mail Servers
Click on the "Edit" button
Enable: Remember password

BTW, it's your Mail Server, and not Netscape, that asks for your password.

Thanks for the welcome and assistance Ramona (the first school I went to had the same exact name) I did try that section and couldn't find find anywhere there which would give me the option of enabling of disabling my password. From what I remember Netscape hid this option very well in their 4.7, in one of the sections that I wouldn't dream of looking for it. That's basically why I'm here right now, because I did look all over it and couldn't find a way to disable it from asking me for my password when ever I receive or send mail. Although the last letter I did receive in it today, it wasn't asking for my password. Why I don't know, I just hope it keeps that up. :)
