Have you used any of the IRC clients before? Such as mIRC, ChatZilla etc?

It might be easier for you to use the Java version at http://sillydog.org/chat/

You will need to have Java enabled in your browser, and please note, not all browsers/platforms support that JavaApplet.

OR you can go to http://www.mirc.com/ then download the software and read the guide there.

I reccommend HydraIRC open source and free unlike Mirc (Only 30 day trial).

ChatZilla is fairly easy to use. When it opens up type in this:

/server alpha.wyldryde.net:6667 (This specifies the Server on which the SD701 chatroom is)

Then a small box appears for your nickname, put something in there.

Then when you have connected to the server, type in '/join #sillydog701' and then you'll be in the chatrooom.

Well, if you did not change any configuration, you won't expect to connected.

The server is on. The setting is correct. However, there might be other settings arising your 27-computer-networking or your ISP or your firewall etc.

The IRC server is working.

suggestion:
check if you've installed ChatZilla correctly.
check if your ChatZilla can connect to internet (did you disallow it?)
check if the port 6667 is blocked by your firewall or server or whatever?
