How to play wav or mp3 file

Postby Saumya » Fri 20 Feb, 2004 3:26 am

Hi All,

I am unable to play .wav file in the opera browser. I have installed the Opera Browser version 7.23 Final and have alos installed the XMMS Player as well. I had tried my level best but I am not able to play any wav or mp3 file. I have written a code in which I want my files to be played but I am unable to do so. It just gives me a blank page where it shud show me the file playing whereas the same thing works in the windows environment. I did some research and found that I need to install plugger which I did but of no use, I was still unable to play the voice files.

Plzzzzzzzzz help asap as I myself seems to be lost. :(

I don't understand if you have separate installations, two different machines or what. It work in Windows, and is the other some form of Linux? You need to give more info, but here is a link which could possibly help.

Hi Moderator,

Thanks for the reply... I am not having two different machines... I have Linux RedHat 9.0 workstation installed and I have the undermentioned Opera brower version installed as well. My question is how to embed wav files in the opera browser so that they play somelike windows player being embedded in the Internet Explorer.

Opera should play WAV files on its own, but you might be missing a plugin for it.
