Netscape 7.02 has a WYSIWYG webpage editor built in called Composer.

Go to - Window - Composer - within Navigator to start it up.

Windows Internet Explorer = Old Swiss Cheese: Full of holes, and it stinks!

. . . is not available for Mac OS 9.x. Nvu is officially only available for Linux and Windows.

AFAIK . . . there is an unofficial port of Nvu for Mac OS X, but don't quote me on that!

Having just checked the Nvu website, it appears there is now a version made for Mac. But, it requires
your Mac has at least Mac OS X 10.3 installed. There are no Nvu builds for the "Classic" Mac OS, so
if you want to try Nvu on your Mac, and you're still using Mac OS 9.x, you will need to upgrade.

(Nvu is now also available for IBM OS/2, as well as Linspire, Linux, Windows and Mac OS X !)

Yes, you will need to buy a setup disk.
Pages designed in Netscape Composer look fine in IE, although they aren't devloped for Microsoft's HTML standards.

You could try something like Macromedia Homesite for hardcoding........... Not sure ow much it costs nowadays but you might be better advised to shop for a copy of Dreamweaver (also from Macromedia) which gives you a choice of hard coding of visual design type page creation. If you're in any way serious about designning web sites I recommend these products highly
