[helpless marty]

I'm running XP home sp3. Having downloaded an icon package, I changed the My Documents, My Computer, and the empty + full recycle bin icons successfully but when I rebooted, those icons (only those- the rest were ok) were blank so I restored them to default. How do I make the changes stick?
