IE 6 How do I disable auto complete.

Postby Wellander » Mon 14 Jul, 2003 11:39 pm

Hi,
IE 6 How do I disable auto complete.
I at this time am going through server issues in my house and I have to use I.E. Because Netscape will not connect to the internet and e-mail (server issues) but the aout complete option is bugging me.
Can someone please help me diable this.
I will rather use netscape and I hope this will not last for a longtime with the servers.
I.E also seems to be faster.

To disable AutoComplete, goto Tools, Internet Options... and select the Content tab. Press the AutoComplete button and uncheck the boxes. Press OK and then select the Advanced tab. Scroll down and just above the HTTP1.1 settings are two more checkboxes for AutoComplete

In IE6, go to Tools|Internet Options|Advanced. Under browsing try unchecking the box for "Use inline autocomplete for web addresses." This stops the autocompletion on the address line, although suggestions still show up below. I do not know how to stop those.

[Edit: I guess Mandrake gives you the rest of the story and just a bit faster than I.]
