import an address book from a .csv file

Postby richard mitnick » Mon 30 Apr, 2012 2:27 pm

Does anyone know if we can import a .csv file for an address book in TBird? I could not find such an import utility.

Thanks.

Good Day Richard,

Do you mean IMPORT an existing .csv file that was exported from another compatible email program, OR just another .csv file that you have.

If the former, go to:
TB address book->Tools -> Import -> Addressbook - select the format that you want.....

does this help any....

Hey, captjlddavis, thanks for the help. I imported an existing .csv which had been an export from Outlook. But, upon attempting the mapping, it is the same old bad Eudora thing it always was. It was a total flop. User error? Fine.

I have had to decamp from Outlook because of a hang problem on closing, which is probably temporary. So, I installed Windows Liove mail, which is fine, and did the import just fine. But, it is a bit simple, I would like some more utility, which i have gotten in the past with TBird. But, I am just not going to ever play that mapping game of theirs again. (Never say never, I have in fact done it in the past. But, no need right now.)
