Incomplete load

Postby ray5450 » Mon 26 Sep, 2011 8:38 pm

For the last few weeks, my FF is having a lot of pages that do not load completely, but appear to be perpetually loading. Some pages remain blank, some look almost complete, some are in the middle, but they all remain that way, unless I repeatedly press reload or repeatedly 'enter' the address line or a repeated combination of both, until it finally loads completely. My history files are clear. Is there some setting to force pages to load completely and not hang?

Thanks.

"My history files are clear"
'History' is ambiguous - used to mean multiple things in Tools > Clear Recent History.

Also clear, testing after each: 1) cache; 2) cookies.
Check the range in the "Time range to clear:' box.

You're right...I should have specified: cookies, cache, history. I always clear all time/everything.

I was looking for something else, and tripped across this Mozillazine thread.
Short summary: In about:config, change network.http.max-connections.
See the explanation in the article linked in the first reply, by moderator James.
This may not help, but could be worth experimenting with.

Hey, thanks, a lot. I read the whole thread and found that different people had good results at: 30, 48, 96, and 256. Mine was set at 96, so I will try each of the other values and post the results here.

Okay, I have tried numerous hours using each setting--30, 48, and 256--and what I found was that there is no difference. Behavior is the same. I found one site that would not load at all, yet the status bar said it was almost complete. I found it to load okay with IE. I searched for an add-on that will force pages to load to completion, but did not find any, although there are so many add-ons, I could have missed one. I hope there is a solution somewhere, and for anyone else who might have this problem.

Thanks.

Update:

Maybe FF people are reading these posts, as with subsequent version releases, this problem happens occasionally instead of most of the time.

Why are you resurrecting posts that are two years old? Even if some people are still "reading these threads" as you think, your post hasn't really added anything of substance to the original thread. I'm at a loss as to why you would think this was important enough to rehash... all these years later. Very odd. :?

It was left as an unresolved issue that has not made progress until recently.

All these years? It is slightly over one.
