Installing a Digital Camera.

Postby Shehamore » Tue 10 Jun, 2003 12:54 pm

When I try to install my Digital Camera on to my PC. I keep getting the following message. File ksclockf.ax cannot be found. I am running Windows 98SE. What should I do?

I found this with a groups.google search:

Hi James,

Ksclockf.ax is in the driver11.cab

If your Win98 CD is a System Restore CD, then the cab files are probably
already on the hard drive under a folder like C:\Win98 or
C:\Windows\options\cabs.

Ksclockf.ax belongs in the C:\Windows\system folder, you can use SFC to
extract it. See this page for details on extracting single system files:

I checked the Windows 98 Second Edition CD-ROM Directory Listing (3 of 14) http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb ... 8/6/68.asp
and the file IS in the Driver11.cab File, as the above posting mentions..

Thanks for the suggestions everyone.
I have tried them and no joy.

Is there anything else I can do?

Do you now have a copy of ksclockf.ax in your Windows\system folder? If not then you should be able to use the Win98 System File Checker tool to extract the single file ksclockf.ax froim either your Win98 CD-Rom OR from C:\Windows\Options\Cabs. Someone using Win98 would be better at giving you the details. but the information in the link in the NG post I copied should help..

Also, who makes your digital camera and what is the model number?

Alice is correct. The SFC command (Start>Run>sfc) will extract a single file from your W98SE CD-ROM, if the file is on the CD. You may have to go to the camera manufacturer's web site and see if they have a copy. And check out these links:
