Internet Explorer 9 leads HTML5 compliance

Postby Antony » Tue 02 Nov, 2010 6:33 pm

W3C has published the HTML5 compliance test result, and the winner is... Internet Explorer 9 Preview Platform 6! Congratulations to Microsoft.

The W3C tests only covered seven features of HTML 5, including attributes, video, canvas, getElementsByClassName, foreigncontent and XHTML5. Omitted standards, however, included elements such as the file API, local storage, drag-and-drop, Web Workers, and SVG animations, among others.

I think this is both exciting and encouraging news to hear. Frankly, I was getting a little tired of some posts that constantly demonize Microsoft. While I continue to use Firefox, I'm happy to see MS leading the way in this html5 compliance. :)
