Mac min versus keyboard/mouse

Postby aMakUzr » Sat 05 Feb, 2005 10:33 pm

There's another strategy ... if you have multiple systems on your desk and they all have monitors and you don't want to have multiple keyboards 'n meeces, you should take a look at KMremoteControl from www.derman.com.

Simply put, KMremoteControl is a software keyboard/mouse switcher (i.e., KVM without the "M" part). I've been using KMremoteControl for quite some time (in a different setup) and it works really well. Hope this helps.

Mac mini 1.42 GHz
with 80GB hard drive and Combo drive, built-in AirPort Extreme and Bluetooth module retailing for $599;
Mac mini 1.42 GHz
with a 80GB hard drive and SuperDrive for burning DVDs and CDs, , built-in AirPort Extreme and Bluetooth module costing $699.

Unfortunately, as well the extra RAM added to the base configurations, Apple UK have hiked the
price of the entry level version of the Mac mini by UK£20, increasing it from UK£339, to UK£359.

It may still be marketed as "the most affordable Mac ever", but this somewhat unnecessary
price hike has made it slightly less affordable. Eitherway, I still intend to get one as soon
as I can. I hope the price isn't hiked again when it comes built with Intel processors.

It seems to me it's an adjustment of currency exchange rate. Has Starlings dropped its value recently?

Pound Sterling hasn't gone down in value lately. It's still the world's 4th strongest currency.

Has the exchange rate (to USD) changed recently OR will be changed according to market prediction?

OR did UK government increased other charges such as taxes?

There have been no increases in VAT (Value Added Tax) for many years.

Can you get a recent trend of UK£ vs US$?

You don't expect Apple UK to change the price every day like share markets, right?

I wouldnt think anyone could expect that.

On a different note. I will definately be buying a Mac Mini in the Autumn or Winter, almost definately the 1.2 GHz 40 GB model although I will buy the more expensive model if I can afford it. :D
