Apple's iPod was designed to combat the music piracy, although Apple have made it very easy and friendly to use, but there might be some inconveniences in certain situations.

For example, if you have two Macs (or one Mac and one Windows machine), and syncing songs between two computers can be a pain when you set your iPod to autosync.

In order to keep record companies happy, songs can only be transfer to iPod from iTunes, not other way round to prevent copying (pirating) music.

Third party developers have developed some tools to allow user to copy songs from iPod back to computer, such as iPodRip and CopyPod . Now a plug-in for iTunes - iPodDownload , freeware. All you have to do is drag songs from iPod to your iTunes.

Well, if you haven't got it, you are too late, Apple has shut down this plugin.

Following a request from Apple, a small Mac software developer has pulled a iPodDownload, an iTunes plug-in that allows users to transfer songs from any iPod to your iTunes library. Apple allows an iPod to be associated with only one iTunes music library at a time in order to prevent the digital music player from being used to transfer songs to any computer.

After Apple threatened my web hosting company and my site was shut down for more than 1 hour, I had to withdraw the plugin. %^(
