Is Adware seeing things?

Postby Fulvio » Fri 08 Apr, 2005 3:05 pm

I have Spyware Blaster, which protects IE and Firefox, by not allowing a ton of cookies to be used. Also Spybot S @ D, which is always finding my same type of cookies, from either Netscape or Mozilla. And, Adaware which is a completely different beast. It is very slow, and, it often sees things, which could be problems, but are not seen by Spybot, e.g.
Today, I did a scan with Spybot first, followed by Adaware. Adaware is much more dramatic, although the reasons are not justified by what it shows.
Somehow it seems cookies from IE, which I have not used for days. Lasted used today, at least six-eight hour later than now. Ok, it may using Greenwich time, but how in the world are the cookies from IE, which I had not opened, and they should not be allowed by Spyware Blaster.
May be the use of Windows, with or without IE is enough, and it may circumvent Spyware Blaster. Who knows!
I noticed this while attempting to get my DVD/CD drive to be recognized.
No luck, so far.
