Is NS7 mail the same as NS6 mail

Postby humpd » Sat 30 Nov, 2002 11:40 am

My anti virus (pc-cillin 2002) says its mail scan to prevent email virus works with Netscape 4.+ and Netscape 6 and 6.1. I was wondering if NS7's email client is the same and whether or not my antivirus will work with it. I've emailed pc-cillin tech support but have not heard back yet. I am hoping someone here may know the answer. Thanks.

The mail in NS7 is the same, with all its quirks. Other than that, setting up AOL or Netscape Webmail work in NS7, while it was a fight in the earlier NS6.x. Many company took a long time to accept the existance of NS6.x, and never went any further. So, they will not support NS7, i.e. nobody here ever looked at it. You should be ok.

Going back to the original question, PC-cillin 2003 scans any Netscape mail, as will as AOL, Hotmail, Yahoo and "other webmail".

I just upgraded to PC-Cillin 2003 and it seems to be working fine. It already caught one Klez virus and deleted it.
