NO, it looks like you'll have to wait for litepc.com to
release XP/2KLite before you can surgically remove
stuff like IE and any other junk you neither want nor
need in your installation of Windows XP.

The only other suggestion I can make for now is, if
you want the pleasure of ripping IE out of Windows,
you'll need to re-install your old Windows 98, and
rip out the version of IE that comes with it!

What is so depressing to me is that you can't even get rid of Netmeeting. Even if you delete all the files in "C:\Program Files\Netmeeting", it just replaces them as if by magic.

Also cannot delete the "C:\Program Files\MSN Gaming Zone" even if you don't load the Internet Solitair games, nor the "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Frontpage" directory...which I never even loaded....*ARRRGGGHH!*

However, messenger happily disappeared when I highlighted and deleted it :). granted I wish it showed up in add/remove since I hate just 'deleting' apps like that...but it is gone, and that is what counts.

You sure? I might try it myself.
btw, however how do you access to NetMeeting from start menu? I can't from it from Start.

Hmm...Never saw a start menu link for it. I personally don't run it, but just because I am such a great guy ( :P ), I manually clicked on C:\Program Files\NetMeeting\conf.exe" in windows explorer. It started up, though with a significant delay. Went through setting it up, then closed it. I then started it up again and itw as pretty much instant, so I guess the first time it has to initialize some things (yeah, that was a technical explanation  ).

Btw, during the first setup, it asked if I would like to put an icon on the desktop, so that would take care of your question about where to start it.

Lastly, I again tried deleting all the files in "C:\Program Files\NetMeeting", and they did indeed get moved to the recycle bin, but were replaced within moments...(banging head against wall now!)
