K-meleon 0.7 is out

Postby Fulvio » Fri 01 Nov, 2002 1:07 am

K-meleon 0.7 is just. 0.6 had just celebrated its anniversary.
The program is about 5Mb, and, as usual very fast. It is partly based on Mozilla1.2b. You can get it at:
http://kmeleon.sourceforge.net/
Just do not enable the HTML function, unless you want to make it your default browser.

10-31-02: K-Meleon 0.7 released. This release is chock full of yummy bug fixes and new features; it's much better for your teeth than halloween candy. Enjoy.

10-30-01 : K-Meleon 0.6 released. Check out the new resources section for translation and configuration goodies. Submit your own enhancements, too: see the guide to getting involved for more details.
It took one year for 0.1 update, interesting.

Scroll mouse works with this

Postby swirven » Fri 01 Nov, 2002 10:02 am

I noticed the scroll wheel mouse works with this. Just curious if anyone knows why they don't have this working in Mozilla or Netscape 6/7. This is a nice feature.

I was asking the same question a few days ago. For some reason, it must be too difficult or trivial to implement.
One thing: watch out what you do around the toolbars. You can move them around, but sometimes you do not realize that you are doing it. I could not find the top row, with File, etc., and the I found it to be at the very bottom.
As for the time that it took, do not look at the 0.1 increment. They, and I do not even know if they is more a handful of people, very ready with indermediate versions( like 0.65), but they put it off as Mozillas kept coming along. The original plan was to base it on 1.1, but then 1.2b came out.
I think that with an ever developing Mozilla, it is admirable that they did what they did.
