Interesting that the UA string of the Kindle's Silk browser identifies itself at Mac OS X instead of Android.

Sitting here in the local coffee shop. I just love this Fire. It's the perfect size for my pocket. Great for games, magazine, music, email, surfing and watching videos.

How does it compare to iPad 2?

The ipad is superior... no question about it. My wife has an ipad2 and occasionally I'll use it so I have experience with them both. BUT... the Fire is more pocketable and it will do many of the same things the ipad will do. Plus, it is a full $300 cheaper than the least expensive ipad which is a huge bonus.

I've now watched movies on it, sent email on it, surfed the web, listened to my music, uploaded my pictures, gone to Facebook to update my status, downloaded a dozen apps and played games. This thing fits into my coat pocket and that is a huge attraction for it. I'm telling you, Antony, it's a winner as far as I'm concerned. I love it.

Thanks for the comparison. Kindle Fire is not available in Australia yet. If I remember correctly, it does not have 3G feature yet. I would definitely be interested to get one with 3G feature.
