I have a PowerMac G3 with Mac OS 8.6. Due to problems opening secure websites with my current Microsoft IE, I tried to download Netscape 6.2.3 (full install) from your SillyDog site. After 3 tries I have been unable to
complete the down load. Each time I get ERROR in the download after an
hour an a half at about 12MB of the 17.7MB. I have a 56k dial up modem.

Any idea what I can do? Is it possible to obtain a 6.2.3 CD, and would
that solve the problem? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Would you be able to specify what error this is? Any text in the error box?

When you click on the download manager, under ERROR it says "File not found", which does not tell me much. I am not very computer literate, but I try my best.

Can you make downloads from other sites correctly?

I rarely do any downloads. When I downloaded the latest Microsoft IE (5.1.7) 3 weeks ago in hopes that it would solve my initial problem, I had
no error message. It took 55 minutes, and installed okay.

However, when I recently tried to download a 10 min flash player, I got the same error. So, I am at a loss.

Netscape 6 is a bad browser...

Try Mozilla 1.3.1 for MacOs 8.5 and higher, is the same as Netscape 7.02.

Netscape 7.02 was based on Mozilla 1.02, not Mozilla 1.3.1.. In my experience using 7.02 for awhile, and 1.2.1 for a day, I could see a change in functionality, mainly speed (I was running at 133MHz at the time), but other options as well.
