In recent release of iMac 24-inch with 2.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Extreme, Bare Feats has some interesting benchmarks.

In some performances, iMac 2.8 beats Mac Pro quad-core and Mac Pro quad-core beat Mac Pro 8-core.

The graphic cards are:
Mac Pro 8-core 3GHz: Quadro FX 4500
Mac Pro quad-core 3GHz: Radeon X1900 XT
iMac Core 2 Extreme 2.8GHz: Radeon HD 2600 Pro.

Are you surprised to see the Mac Pro 4-core with the Radeon X1900 XT beat the expensive Mac Pro 8-core with the Quadro FX4500? We're not. Not only does Motion NOT take advantage of more than 2 cores, but the $250 Radeon X1900 XT does a better job handling the render duties its given than the $1600 FX4500.

Benchmarks and other comments are available at Bare Feats: iMac Aluminum versus Others (Cinebench 10 and Motion 3).
