MacOffice announced the availability of MacOffice Professional. MacOffice Professional is a business office suite that contains Word Processing, Spreadsheet, Presentations, Database. Graphics, Equation and Formula Editing and more. MacOffice Professional is a Universal Application and it support Office 2007 (for Windows) file formats.

Currently, Microsoft's Office 2004 (for Mac) supports Office 2007 (for Windows) format via Office Open XML File Format Converter. Microsoft Office 2008 is scheduled to be available in mid-January. NeoOffice 2.2.1 (Early Access) is available and includes experimental support for Office 2007 format.

MacOffice Professional is priced at US$47.95.

We now believe MacOffice Professional is a packaged version of NeoOffice. NeoOffice is open source and free. (Please refer to Arstechnia.com report.)
