Macromedia Flash Player 7

Postby Edward » Sat 03 Jul, 2004 2:35 pm

Macromedia has released Flash Player 7 for Linux. After installation (and I might add that it installed to both the Mozilla and Opera directories at once), it indicated to have the administrator delete the filr XPTI.DAT from the Mozilla/Netscape Components directory.

Rather than delete this file (not knowing what it does), I renamed it XPTI.OLD and Mozilla still loaded fine afterwards.

After deinstalling SuSE 9.1 and reinstalling 9.0, I reinstalled Flash 7 again. This time, the aforementioned file was left intact, and Mozilla runs fine even with the file present.
