Mail Nag tag!

Postby jrread » Sat 02 Nov, 2002 10:28 am

Can someone please tell me how to remove the netscape Netcenter nag tag that opens up in the mail program in Communicator 4.80? I've done it on my profile, but I just created another profile, and can't remember how to do it!
Thanx,
Keith

Hi Keith,

This is the line you will want to add to your prefs.js file:
user_pref("mailnews.start_page.enabled", false);

Make sure that Communicator is closed before editing the prefs.js file.

Ramona,
doesn't the Mail Nag show up when you have Mail preview? In other words, when the screen on the right is split? I do not have any such preference, and, it has been years since I saw a Mail Nag.

Hi Fulvio,

I was under the impression that Keith is talking about the Netscape Ad that opens in the Mail Window in Messenger when you first open it. Without that script in prefs.js, it is always there, and with the script it is eliminated.
