Many "not responding" messages

Postby sonicboy » Fri 09 May, 2003 10:13 am

First my system: Windows xp 2600 service pack 1
directx9.0a

The last period, i get many "not responding" messages from various programs (mozilla, real player and especially opera).
I've already tried to repair it with regcleaner, but it doesn't help. I've also installed the latest version of opera, but with no results.
So i'm asking to you what i should do to resolve the problem, and i don't want to reinstall my pc!

Greetings sonicboy :)

If this kind of thing is happening, I personally reccomend the "System Restore" feature in Windows XP.

I don't use XP here, so I'm guessing at this point.

Since Mozilla, Opera, and Real are giving you more-or-less the same messages, could you be having a problem with your 'net connection? Things like this happened quite a bit while I had dialup 'net access. :(

I started getting "connection refused " by a variety of ad sites. Usually, cancelling the message should be enough.
As for Opera, try File|Preferences|Network and identify with MSIE 6.
See if you can fool the sites by just telling.
