According to Wired.com's Webmonkey, Firefox is down 0.37 points to 20.55 percent, Internet Explorer gained 0.99 points for a 53.88 percent market share.

Microsoft's IE market share increase may surprise many.

It is also interesting to note that Chrome (18.57%) is not far behind Firefox (20.55%).

This doesn't completely surprise me, given the work that MS has put into updating IE 9. And with the advent of Windows 8 and IE 10, I'm certain that we'll see an even greater increase in IE's share. As for FF and Chrome, it's still my contention that Chrome will ultimately surpass FF. Mozilla, it seems to me, have a tendency to shoot themselves in the foot. The run two branches of FF (although finally it would appear that they're killing off version 3). Also, as much as I'm still stuck on Firefox I have to admit that Chrome is sleeker, leaner and faster than FF.

In my recent experience, I have fooled around with Chrome a lot, and IE a bit.

I am sorry. IE9 is a clunky mess, probably made sleeker if I want to do a lot of drilling to change settings, which I do not.

Chrome- I ran it as a default on six machines. There were things there that were messy, especially in how it handled my bookmarks, opening a bookmark in a folder. Painful.

For me, there is nothing better than the Firefox/SeaMonkey tandem. I use both, I actually prefer SeaMonkey because of its handling of the images I need to copy and paste into blog posts. For that it is much slicker than Firefox. I have one problem, seemingly insoluble, with SeaMonkey only on one machine and only on one site, Google Reader. No mater what I try it will not save those passwords. Just that one machine and just that one site.
But on all other machines, I open SeaMonkey to work.

Microsoft should go into the Oil and Gas business. They love drilling. I hate drilling.
