Microsoft pays $60m for WMP9 streaming technology

According to Microsoft settles Burst blowup, the video streaming technology was actually developed by a small company called Burst who spent over a decade developing the technology.

The $60m settlement grants Microsoft a non-exclusive licence to use Burst's software, but does not include sub-licensing rights.
