Microsoft to abandon standalone IE

Postby leier911 » Mon 02 Jun, 2003 8:00 am

So this means Microsoft will stop issuing just a standard separate download for "newer" versions? Does this mean for newer versions, they would be forced to upgrade to LongHorn or whatever it will be called? Will that new OS have for example IE 7 or something? Fine with me, I use Mozilla/Netscape as my browser, I am never in IE anyway, except here at work since I am forced to! Maybe now, my work will start using a decent browser that actually works and if faster to boot!

There is already an ongoing thread in our MS Windows forum regarding
the decision to discontinue the standalone version of Internet Explorer.

Please use the existing thread to continue discussing this subject.

Link to existing thread - Standalone IE for Windows discontinued . . .

In the meantime, can someone please lock this thread?
