But, I decided to test 3.3, which is at the a3 stage, and found that it seems faster, and more manageable than the present 3.1.8 final. I liked it so much that I decided to add one more account. That turned out into a disaster.
As usual the server settings presented were completely wrong, but on top of it, 3.3 makes everything harder for "sake of security". My ISP is Cox which does not require authentication to Send mail. SMTP settings were difficult with 3.1.8, but impossible with 3.3. 3.3 insisted not only in authentication, but, also in taking different port numbers. Port 25 is standard for Cox, and a single SMTP is required to send mail from several accounts, the good old "default". When I change port 587 to port 25, it went right back to 587. Finally, 3.3 did not accept the password for that account. It is not a case of an ISP doing that, but TB, and I got a big orange-brown warning for attempting to use "unacceptable" settings.
I will go, of course, to Get Satisfaction, and let you know if I did something wrong, or is TB trying to shoot itself in the foot. Well, there is, alway TB 2.0.0.24!
