more people queuing for Samsung Galaxy than Apple iPhone 4S

It has been a cult that whenever Apple releases a new device, there's a long queue (camping) outside Apple Store.

Not to say that Don is into Samsung, but the golden saying an enemy's enemy is one's friend indicated that Don would be much refer Samsung than Apple without a doubt. Therefore, the delightful news for Don: Samsung Galaxy queues trump iPhone 4S queues - has lining up lost its lustre?

Out in the elements, there were more people queuing at the new makeshift Samsung store just two doors down from Apple store for the chance to buy a $2 Samsung Galaxy S II.

Samsung offered only $2 for Samsung Galaxy II S smartphone to the first 10 customers for the rest of the week.

What exactly does this post have to do with me, so much that it merited dropping a rant about me in it?

Well, I am still looking at the Nokia N900 as my next phone. Failing that I'm also looking at the HTC Dream Z, as it features a hardware keyboard and can apparently run custom Android builds like CyanogenMod. Though for now my Treo is still holding up well.

Given the choice, FWIW ... I'd much sooner pick the Samsung Galaxy over the Apple iPhone 4S.

There was a story here in the New York City area, it may be quite a common thing, that at Apple stores many people formed a queue even as long as one or two weeks ago. They have no interest in the device, rather, they sell the place in line.
