More wireless connection problems....

Postby Calico131 » Fri 18 Aug, 2006 6:11 pm

Ok so heres the deal. I have sbc dsl and a dlink DI-624 wireless router. The main computer is what my family uses and it works completly fine. The trouble is, all the sudden one day, 2 of our computers (one desktop and one notebook) in the other rooms lost all connection to the internet. Both of them are displaying the same signs. When you turn on the computer and log in, it spend 5-6min with just the wallpaper and your mouse icon without any desktop icons until finally it all loads up lkike normal. So from that point i thought it might be some sort of spyware of virus, so i ran Spybot, ad-aware, and anti-vir. That didnt really accomplish much. So now both computers are not connected to the internet and the wireless connection icon in the task tray is doing the "aquiering network adress" animation. Ive tryed cycling the router and ive tryed fooling with the router settings and nothing seems to work. Ive done everything i can think of to get it to work and im getting nothing. If you have any ideas that would be great. Sorry if that didnt make much sense, just ask for me to clearify the fuzzy parts if you dont understand. Thanks in advance.

I know that many problems are fixed by unplugging the router, and, then plugging it back in. I remember having some problems when my son lived with us, and there were router problems.
He got quite disgusted with the D-link system. I still have his wireless PC card. May be it is a driver problem. Check with the D-link website.
I will check with him, if he remember what he did.
