Why could this be? I think NS 7.01
seems faster

It depends of so many things, that`s why it is very hard to answer you on your general question. Among other things it also depends on how your windows interface is configured.

You're imagining things. 1.2.1 will be just as fast as Netscape, if not faster. 1.2.1 is a more recent version than 1.0.2 - which is what netscape is based on, so obviously Mozilla will be faster if any of the two are to be faster. Unless you have enabled some features in netscape/mozilla than slow them down?

Recommended 7.01 Streamline. It is fast and superbly stable.

I run Mozilla 1.2.1 right along side Netscape 7.00 under Windows 98SE, and I notice no obvious speed differences. I currently prefer Mozilla, although it tends to crash now and then. (Netscape 7.00 and 7.01 are reportedly the same "speed", and both are probably very stable.)
