Mozilla 1.2 Withdrawn

Postby Josh » Fri 29 Nov, 2002 7:54 pm

According to Mozillazine, 1.2 final has been withdrawn due to a bug that might cause some DHTML sites to crash. 1.2.1, which should fix this bug, will soon be available.

From what I've seen, it's not a crasher, it just causes incorrect display of some DHTML. The Linux binaries are fine.

This was caused by an incorrect backout of a patch.

Also, certain things that were checked in to the 1.2 branch were not in the 1.2 release.

Finally, the 1.2 Installer on Linux doesn't appear to have shipped with talkback.

Any further questions?

It appeared that they withdrew the link from the page, but not yet posted 1.2.1.

We've discovered a bug in Mozilla 1.2 (Bugzilla bug 182500) that can cause DHTML on some sites to fail. We plan to release Mozilla 1.2.1 with a fix shortly.

Also, the 1.2 release tag was not complete so builds created from that tag may not be correct. If you're building Mozilla you can pull the tip of the branch or wait for the 1.2.1 tag.
